History
Ayrton Senna was a legendary F1 driver who was also a fan of motorcycles. In 2014, 20 years after the tragic lost of the brazilian driver, German builder Marcus Walz and WalzWerk-Racing decides to pay tribute by crafting a stunning limited-edition Moto Guzzi Le Mans.
This piece of art is limited to no more than 3 pieces in the world.
This 'Senna Tribute Bikes' edition is based on 1970s Moto Guzzi bikes from the Le Mans Mark 1 series. The bike has been completely rebuilt from the ground up, with a custom bodywork finished in colours inspired by Senna's famous helmet designs, taken from the Brazilian flag and painted by Sid Mosca. The yellow base symbolizes youth, the blue stripe symbolizes movement where the green strope symbolyses aggression ; that was characteristic of Senna's driving style.
Technical specifications
The original 850cc engine was pushed to 1040cc, easily makes 90hp while the weight was reduced around 175kg.
The complete bodywork including the fuel tank, seat section, headlight cover and front fender are all handmade from 1.5mm aluminum sheet metal.
The sandblasted and powder coated frame is joined by an upgraded suspension with new fork tubes, internals, and progressive springs, while at the back you can find YSS Z-Series shocks with adjustable preload, rebound and length.
The original 18” Le Mans forged wheels are black powder coated and shod with Avon Roadrider tyres sized 110/80 at the front and 130/80 at the back.
Also, the seat is covered with alcantara.
Braking is taken care of by Brembo two-piston callipers at both ends, clamped on drilled stainless steel rotors. LSL clip-on bats and hand-fabricated, fully adjustable rearsets complete the bike.
